How to start as an international teacher with Leading Out:

1. Send the following items to Lucy@LeadingOut.net:

  • Current resume
  • 2 letters of reference (including email/phone details)
  • Digital photo

2. We’ll send you:

  • An information package with additional steps, outlining our service and support
  • A Candidate Bio form requesting some more specific details about timelines and where you would like to teach
  • Details on interview dates once application has been approved

3. If we feel you are a good fit:

  • You will be added to our global database for contract positions
  • We will begin assisting you with casual relief (supply) and/or contract positions
  • You can sign up to receive our e-newsletter to stay up-to-date on news, positions, and events.

Minimum Requirements

At Leading Out we aim to service all types of teachers. Whether you’re a graduate fresh out of teachers college, or a seasoned veteran with many years under your belt, our job is to find you the best school in the perfect location to suit your interests and skill level.

For those teachers with no postgraduate experience, we know how difficult it can be to find your first teaching job. Let us help! Relief (supply) teaching is a great start, but there are some opportunities for contract positions in countries abroad to set you on a more direct path to the career of your dreams.

Basic Requirements:

  • University bachelor’s degree
  • Accredited teaching certificate – from Canada, UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa
  • Native English speaker
  • Exceptional references
  • Flexibility

Extra Qualifications:

  • Additional qualification courses
  • Professional development courses
  • Masters of Education
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Travel experience
  • Proficiency in other languages
  • Creativity and enthusiasm
